Hello all!I've worked in the Behavioral Health industry for now 3 years. I first got into this industry on a leap of faith back in 2019 when I originally applied to Services for the underserved. Beginning employment with SUS, specifically the Starhill location in the Bronx, I had no clue what I was walking into. After about 6 months I fell in love with the work! Being able to watch clients come through intake to then graduate the program and lead drug free lives is the most rewarding thing in the world. I can't begin to explain the emotions that take over after seeing a former client working full time, staying consistent and being proactive within recovery. Within my current position at the East Harlem ACT team I have the freedom and/or ability to go out and visit clients whom are living on their own and maintaining sobriety. I conduct wellness checks, progress notes, treatment plans and I am involved in the process of graduating clients from the ACT teams services. Thankfully working for SUS previously I am aware and skilled within communicating with the demographic of individuals that we serve. These previous positions have given me valuable & relevant experience in problem solving, harm reduction and community engagement.My reputation as an important team member who always gets the job done comes from my demonstrated ability to multitask. I've worked on projects such as maintaining organizational databases as well as providing quick resources for community members seeking housing, education, mental health, as well as employment information. These experience taught me the importance of being proactive, and I pride myself on my ability to adapt to many different situations as they arise as well as coming to positive and effective solutions.
