After receiving Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering under the guidance of Professor Tim Lodge at the University of Minnesota, and working with Professors Ed Kramer and Glenn Fredrickson as a postdoc in the Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) at UCSB, I joined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as an Assistant Professor in the Department and Chemical Biology in 2000 and was promoted to an Associate Professor with tenure in 2006 and Full Professor in 2013.
