Acer Cloud Technology US is Acer's R&D center in the US. I led engineering teams in US and in Taiwan who design, develop and maintain various Acer's Cloud Infrastructures. Many cloud-based applications, IoT, and devices use services provided by these Infrastructures, which are hosted in multiple world-wide datacenters, both physical and AWS. These infrastructures are powered by technologies such as Apache Kafka, Docker, Kuberntes, Cassandra, Spark, HiveMQ, Akka, S3, Redshift, Kinesis, Redis, RabbitMQ, Spinnaker, MySQL, Oracle RAC, Postgres, Aurora, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, Zookeeper, etc.Major Milestones:• Aiforge System - A suite of tools and services for Machine Learning and Deep learning. An Aiforge system can be deployed on prem or in the cloud and can be scaled to hundreds of GPU nodes. Aiforge system is powered by Kubernetes, Docker engine, Spinnaker, NVIDIA CUDA, Spring Cloud Gateway, Airflow, and JupyterLab.• Aiforge Cloud (work in progress) - multi-tenant cloud services that manage and serve many single-tenant Aiforge systems. Whenever necessary or by design, training jobs can be further securely offloaded to the Aiforge Cloud.• Acer MITOSIS Cloud - Highly scalable cloud services for Acer and its partners' Internet of Things (IoT) powered by patent pending platform service technologies to effectively ingest and process hundreds of millions of IoT streaming time-series data and events into the cloud.• Acer BYOC (Build Your Own Cloud) - a turn key solution for Acer and its partners to build their own cloud without the complexity of developing and managing cloud infrastructures by calling Acer Cloud Services as a Platform through REST APIs and SDKs.• Acer Personal Cloud - cloud services for connected mobile devices to access personal storage and applications running on Acer computers.

iGware engineers Cloud Infrastructures to serve and manage various consumer devices including Nintendo Wii, 3DS, and WiiU. iGware also provides various SDKs to allow third-party programmers to access infrastructure services.• Envisioned, architected, and supported highly scalable platform services including Identity Authorization and Authentication Service, Business Management Service, E-Commerce Service, Payment Authorization Service, Payment Gateway Service, Content Licensing Service, Content Distribution Service, etc.• Supported Nintendo directly in the development of the Wii Shop Channel• Recommended and fine-tuned Nintendo's software and hardware system for running iGware infrastructure services.• Worked on all aspects of PaaS and IaaS development, including CI/CD, Oracle database administration and design, performance tuning and monitoring, alert escalation system, SOP, etc.• Managed software development efforts including offshore engineers, including: team management, task management, project management, release planning and coordination.

BroadOn Communications Corp. is an intellectual property design company primarily focused on networking, networking service infrastructure, and consumer devices, namely Acer SME Gateway in Taiwan and iQue Player in China.• Designed and developed network service server modules for custom-tailored products for both corporate and retail clients.• Established best-practices and SOP for Oracle and MySQL database development and administration.• Worked with cross-functional team and customers to coordinate the development of bug fixes, new features and enhancements.

NetRatings is an internet audience measurement and analysis and is a source of online advertising intelligence. Netratings went IPO on Dec 8, 1999 and later was completely bought by Nielsen Co. I was their Oracle database consultant at first in 1997 and then became the part of the management team in 1998.• Designed and implemented all areas of database development and management for internet ranking.• Invented algorithms to derive ad click-thru rate and ad impressions.• Built database operations and development team from ground up.

• Provided onsite and remote Oracle Database administration and consulting for Oracle Applications and other in house Oracle Database systems for many companies, such as, Arco, Samsung, Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Safeskin Corporation, Orange Country Fire Authority, PairGain Technologies, Amada Engineering, NextWave Telecom , Dynanet , JAMS Endispute, Netratings, Jesus Film Project, and more.

• Developed client-server application to visualize and generate real-time telephone usage bill.• Developed sales and marketing tools to easily adjust rates and promotions with what-if analysis.• Migrated legacy database systems to Oracle 7 Database.
