I am a personable, educated, quick-learner with office, phone, and communication skills. After working at two state universities in my early career, and serving as a financial coordinator in an orthodontist's office, I stayed home to raise twin sons. While at home, I took on many volunteer opportunities in the community, mostly in administrative/supervisory capacities.I also have a great eye for detail, and copy edit many professional submissions for a professor at Millikin University in Illinois, and have co-authored a published paper regarding social media marketing with her. I came back into the work force as a substitute teacher, where my calm, flexible, and optimistic attitude helped me become one of the most sought after substitutes in my school. My recent position as the Secretary for Career & Technical Education has honed my office skills. Besides general school office tasks such as attendance and daily correspondence, I organized and published the daily announcements, served as the school site’s webmaster, and coordinated spending and the budget for the program. I gathered information to submit the required Department of Education thrice-yearly reporting on CTE participation. I coordinated applications, attendance, and progress monitoring for students coming into MHS as well as the students from Milford who attend other area schools for their CTE programs. I have excellent people skills, am proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs. I know how to motivate volunteers and students alike. I am a co-author on two blogs, and I have a lot of experience with social media as both a personal communication tool and as an advertising and communication tool for volunteer groups/community outreach.
