I’ve led international sales and marketing teams – as well as an advertising agency – targeting every audience from C-Level executives to mass market. Across them all, clarity of purpose drove relevance and results. Simplification was especially crucial when communicating with Florida Power & Light’s 10 million customers about electricity, a mundane service only noteworthy when absent. There, I developed tools and messaging that improved perception of electric service quality and preventive maintenance by more than 15% and 20%, respectively. To help customers better understand their electric service, I project led the development of FPL’s System Improvements Map and Power Tracker. The latter online outage monitoring tool was widely covered by media and recognized as a top achievement in FPL’s 2011 Annual Report to Customers.Focusing on the essential also prompted me to take a sabbatical in 2018 to support my partner in the launch of his medical practice.
