As the Director of Dynamic Decisions, I’ve dedicated over a decade to supporting disadvantaged children, young people, and families. My journey began in 2014 after the tragic loss of my 19-year-old brother, Isaac Stone, to a fatal stabbing. This ignited a deep sense of urgency and resolve to address the broader issues of knife crime and serious violence.Motivated by the need to foster change, we are the first outside organisation to sit on MAGpan. Our targeted work addresses not only knife crime but also the broader spectrum of serious violence and exploitation. Our mission extends beyond immediate crisis intervention, encompassing a holistic approach to well-being and trauma management. We help clients recognise, address, and overcome their challenges within a supportive environment.Key initiatives I have created include:Supported Transitions Project: Evolving from the LARO project I developed, this programme aids children transitioning from primary to secondary school by addressing academic, family, and emotional challenges. We offer in-school sessions and family support, reducing the risk of losing school placements and potential exploitation, in collaboration with the Youth Partnership Service.In-School 1-1 Support: We provide bespoke support for young people struggling with their school placements due to educational, family, or external factors. This includes assistance with well-being, educational management, and reintegration, helping students remain engaged and achieve their potential.Family-Centred Support: Delivered in the family’s home or preferred setting, this support addresses family issues to promote positive changes, strengthen the family unit, and enhance community safety. It aims to reduce exploitation risk and provide a supportive environment for the child’s development.Specialised Knife Crime Support: Drawing on lived experience, we offer one-to-one and family support for those affected by knife crime. We also run awareness assemblies and group sessions. We collaborate with Idris Elba’s “Don’t Stop Your Future” campaign to gather insights from schools, professionals, and communities on preventing knife crime and violence.Young Offender Support Project: Building on our work in Medway and Oakhill, this project supports young offenders before and after release, facilitating structured sessions to align their needs with those of their families.
