EPIC is a student-run not-for-profit organization dedicated to Educating, Promoting, Inspiring, and Connecting students with a passion for technology in a fun and exciting way. EPIC is a platform for collaboration between industry, academia and the student body on topics relating to technology, innovation, ideas and action.

The competition involves a civil action trial and features opening and closing arguments, examinations-in-chief and cross-examinations of witnesses.Patrick acted as co-defense counsel for a repair shop in a personal injury negligence action. Client was not found liable for damages. Patrick was awarded the H. Bruce T. Hillyer Award for Best Closing Argument.

Queen's Legal Aid (QLA) offers services to low-income area residents and full-time Queen's student living in Kingston, South Frontenac, or South Lennox & Addington County. About 80 law students work on clients' files during the academic year, eighteen of whom can register for Clinical Litigation Practice (CLP) and carry significant client service.
