I started out on a Steel Bullet, slicing the air with crickety speed down the tracks, walking though the carriages, offering a helping hand to the passengers who needed it, always keeping a keen eye on the opportunity to make someone’s journey better. For ten years, my aim was linear, crossing the country, taking in the beauty of Canada. 2020 changed everything.As I clumsily stumbled into the digital world of UX Design, destiny caught my attention and said, “Check this out! This is about journeys too but in a different land, on a different plane, anything but linear- dynamic! Come, see, you were meant to do this!”I followed and now, I know that was the right decision. I leapt, before the train came to a complete stop, dangerously, not knowing if I would land on my feet but I did. After months of learning and developing and creating and collaborating, I found a new obsession; UX Design. It is here, sparks flew, now from the tracks in my mind; a dream, appearing after the tunnel, unfolding before my eyes. I asked myself; “How can I humanize this experience? How can I make someone happy in this place?” From my background in psychology to my hobbies in writing and illustration; I can take all of the skills I gained in my life before this transition; customer experience; listening and understanding people and apply it to the digital journey.Through chaos came order, everything makes sense now and I am looking forward to the next adventure.
