As an Associate Scientist in the group Bioprocess Analytics and Characterization, we development new methods to support product development and quality control.My roles included:• Performed multiple assays, including Flow Cytometry, ELISAs and cell-based assays• Proficient in training others in ELISA and Cell-based assays• Responsible for the experimental design of a structure/function study• Involved in brainstorming sessions for troubleshooting• Trained in the operation of the Vivacyte and activaly participated in brainstorming sessions for the usage.

As an Assistant Scientist, I am involved in vaccine development. Using multiple immunological assays, we determine the immunogenicity of our vaccines. My roles included:• Performed ELISAs and VNAs• Engaged in Life cycle management activities for both assays, including bridging, writing experimental set-ups and conclusion reports.• Proficient in utilizing the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)• Trained in operating the TECAN robot and the Scinomix labeller/dispenser• Created an operations playbook, serving as a comprehensive guide for all laboratory activities.• Led the setup of periodic reviews and led team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Currently, COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, is a worldwide pandemic. Earlier obtained immunity due to cross-reactivity with common-cold coronaviruses might explain the large differences in disease outcome. The amount of cross-reactive responses may be dependent on the HLA genotype of an individual. In this research, we aimed to investigate if cross-reactivity of CD8+ T cell responses for human coronaviruses differs in individuals based on their HLA genotype.

The efficacy of vaccines against whooping cough is decreasing, which causes waning immunity in especially children. Currently, there is a search for new alternatives. One possibility is to use outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) in vaccines. Host defense peptides (HDP) are used to neutralize lipopolysaccharid (LPS). The aim of this internship was to investigate immune responses evoked by B. Bronchiseptica OMVs and the effect of HDP addition.
