Kia Ora! My name is Chante and I am an 19 year old studying at the University of Auckland. I am passionate about the well-being of mothers and children and making a change in the healthcare system to better support these people. I am striving to play a role in the treatment of endometriosis and make a change in the average diagnosis time frame of around 10 years. I would like to see that all women are listened to when it comes to the well-being of themselves and their children; and feel that their symptoms are being validated and constructively worked with to resolve or manage. I recently was accepted into the NZ Girlboss: Healthcare programme to further my understanding of the healthcare system as a whole so I can successfully navigate this and make a proactive difference. I have worked multiple part-time jobs in retail and also have worked within a large pharmaceutical company during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic.I would love to learn more about the healthcare field and gain any experience possible, which may benefit my mission of making a difference in the health of Wahine all across Aotearoa.
