I am a passionate educator with 7 years teaching experience. I have acquired 3 years of experience as a full-time grade 2 and later grade 4 teacher at River Jordan Christian School. River Jordan is a NPO school which has given me the opportunity to work under a high-pressured environment, which encouraged me to make impactful solutions. Working at River Jordan had opened my heart to the world of education and the opportunity to empower young minds.During my teaching degree I was required to complete 3 years of practical. I spent my first year at Halfway House Primary School where I had the opportunity to explore the education system during COVID restrictions. This opportunity allowed me to work under a different form of pressure and allowed me to find creative ways which were cost effective to deliver lessons to students who could not afford to attend classes online due to financial constraints. Being an active teacher during COVID required me to be compassionate and determined which are skills I am grateful for.My second year of teaching practice required me to work at the Key school for autism. Working at the key opened my heart to a new passion. Working at the Key gave me the opportunity to understand the complex and creative world of special needs education. I had to unlearn everything I had learnt from my previous experience and embrace the beautiful minds that I was presented with. I had learned to be patient and creative when delivering a new skill to my students. This opportunity gave me the necessary skills needed to assist other students with learning and behavioral disabilities which is when I started tutoring students with ADHD, ADD and autism.My last teaching practice school was a Curro Waterfall. During my practice I developed my ability to teach sports such as netball and soccer. I had the opportunity to perform and assess various scientific experiments with my students, where I cultivated the love for science by making concepts relatable and fun for the students.
