One of my main responsibilities was looking after clients when they were in the office; greeting them at the entrance, showing them to the correct edit suite, and taking and delivering food and coffee orders. I manned the front desk, answered calls, emails and coordinated all contractors/visitors to the office. I ensured the common areas, kitchen and edit suites were always clean and restocked with water and snacks for clients. I ordered all office supplies, and purchased and maintained software required for the daily business needs. I researched and obtained quotes for big purchases and recorded and distributed meeting minutes. I generated and managed a Shotgun database of shots requiring VFX and output clean plates with handles for VFX artists. I frequently performed quality checks on work returned from vendors and in house artists.

My main task was generating and managing a shot database in Shotgun for a children’s television series. The database listed all the shots in the series requiring post production effects work, detailing what tasks need to be done, who by and when they were due. I constantly kept this database up to date.I also used After Effects on a daily basis to complete a number of tasks. I quality checked rotoscoped mattes returned from vendors to ensure there were no holes. I undertook some basic rotoscoping, creating a mask around a character or object to replace the painted blue background behind them. I removed small scratches or marks from objects, using the cloning stamp tool and tracking.Other duties included purchasing any software required for the project and ensuring software licenses were always current, purchasing office supplies, and maintaining a clean and orderly office.

Working alongside a team of journalists and camera operators/editors, I filmed and edited local stories in Bundaberg for the nightly 6pm Seven local news, shooting on ENG cameras and editing on Quantel. When on camera my usual tasks included recording interviews, overlay, piece to cameras, look lives (or simsats) Facebook lives and live crosses to Sunrise. When on edit, I cut stories and updates throughout the day, delivering them by set due times. I recorded the journalist’s voice in a sound booth, inserted interview grabs, then used that as a base to cut the story, often using affects to blur faces or numberplates or create transitions. Extra duties included driving the work vehicle to all jobs, and maintaining the work vehicle and all equipment inside it. I often operated in a solo capacity, negotiating interviews and filming on my own.

Camera Assistant responsible for recording sound to accompany Camera Operator's vision. Using a variety of equipment including wireless transmitter and receiver, linked to a sound mixer and a shotgun mic on a boom pole, or a lapel mic attached to a wireless transmitter. Also responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring all batteries were fully charged and all required equipment was packed into the crew car at the start of the day, batteries were placed on charge and equipment was stored safely at the end of the day.

Customer service was one of the main priorities, requiring that I had detailed knowledge of all products and good interpersonal skills. Other main duties included counter service, restocking shelves, rearranging and moving stock around the store according to catalogues, packing and unpacking stock and cleaning.

Working with a small crew we travelled to many different locations to film episodes of Totally Wild and Scope. I was responsible for recording quality audio for episodes and ensuring all equipment was accounted for and in working order, including keeping charged batteries for all equipment in the crew car, and formatting the disc and resetting the time code on the camera.

Assisted with general administration for Trust/Holding accounts, including creating and managing client accounts, sending and responding to mail correspondence, data entry & filing and archiving, creating and managing spreadsheets, folders and files, and sorting and distributing of mail.

The training department at Master Builders offers classes in building and trades matters. In my administrative duties I was responsible for processing bookings and payments—including invoicing and receipting—taking and making calls, answering email enquiries, data entry and creating and maintaining spread sheets. I was also responsible for creating the information packets used in the classes, and distributing them to other offices.
