Working on the new shows has gave me an in-depth insiders look at how the department worked and operated. I gained the experience of theatre on a large corporate level. There are many specific procedures about rehearsals, shows, weather, and safety. The stage manager acts at the point person making sure all elements of the shows are up to the highest standards. There are many specific procedures about rehearsals, shows, weather, and safety. In 2011, I worked on two outdoor shows. The crew and I were challenged by situations caused by rain. Since the stage surface would get slick even during light condensation, I worked with the dance and stilt specialists to discuss show modified options to ensure that the performers were safe but still maintaining show quality. An additional concern was the safety and integration of pyrotechnics used in the show making awareness and collaboration with all personnel on the show and other employees in the work area.
