Managing a team of 15 people running NIHL claims from initial conception to final conclusion.

I am a freelance consultant who undertakes fee earning work on a variety of personal injury and civil claims. I am currently contracted to run a case load of noise induced hearing loss claims. I have experience in pre LASPO and Post LASPO claims. I am currently managing a mixed case load of pre litigation and post litigation. My current litigation case load is made up of an equal amount of fast track and multi track litigated claims.

Employed as a Claimant Fee Earner to work in the Industrial Disease Team based in Canary Wharf, London. Specialising in various industrial disease claims to include:-• Noise Induced Hearing Loss• Occupational Asthma• Asbestos • Mesothelioma Setting up new procedures and assessing all new claims for prospects of success. Training junior members of the team on case law, understanding of medical evidence and, how to manage claims to a successful conclusion. Managing a case load of:-• 200 non litigated claims • 20 litigated claims (multi track and fast track)

I am experienced in various areas of Civil Litigation Claims including Personal Injury Claims. Currently I am advising on Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims, Travel Law Claims and Recovery of Care Home Fees.

Based within the Specialist Risk Team. Varied case load consisting of:-Boundary Disputes• Representing both of Claimant’s and Defendant’s in boundary disputes. • Such disputes include compliance with the Party Walls Act and encroachment of new fences and/or water drains. • Mainly acted on behalf of residential property owners.Disease claims• Varying case load acting for Defendants, including – noise induced hearing loss, VWF/HAVS, Asbestos and Mesothelioma claims. • Mixture of pre litigated and litigated claims.Construction claims• Representing both of Claimant’s and Defendant’s in construction claims. • Claiming compensation for work not satisfactory completed and/or completed outside of the contract period for completion. Environmental Claims• Representing both Claimant’s and Defendant’s in relation to spillage of oil (deliveries of oil to residential homes for heating) into water system and/or soil. • Meeting on site with all parties and environment officers to assess the extent of damage (if any) to environment.• Understand what work needs to be undertaken to clean spill and what compensation should be paid along with any fines received from the Environmental Agency. Personal Injury• Such work included - trip and slip claims on public highways, injuries caused by dog bites and minor RTA claims (prior to RTA reforms). • Mixture of Defendant and Claimant work pre litigated and litigated claims.

Worked in the Litigation and Disputes Resolution Team. I have dealt with a variety of contentious and non contentious claims. I was expected to obtain my target of chargeable hours and financial budget for each month. I advise both Claimants and Defendants alike. Debt Recovery• I am in charge of dealing with all debt recovery matters. Not only does this include client’s debt but I am also in charge of the outstanding debt owed to Glanvilles.• Debts range from small claims, fast track and occasionally multi track.• I have dealt with many methods of enforcing judgments • I have experience of drafting and advising on Statutory Demands followed by applications for Petitions to wind up companies in the High Court.Landlord and Tenant (Residential)• I have been instructed by Landlords and Tenants alike to obtain advice with regards to obtaining legal possession of property and rent arrears.• I have good sound knowledge of drafting and serving section 21 and section 8 Notices under the Housing Act.• I have experience in drafting Accelerated Possession claims for section 21 notices and drafting of Possession claims for section 8 Notices.• Attended the County Court on numerous occasions in order to obtain possession orders.• Good knowledge of the Tenant Deposit Scheme Mortgage Re-possession• Attend court on numerous occasions as an Agent for other solicitors • Provide advice to clients whose properties are due to be re-possessed.Boundary Disputes• Good knowledge of reading and understanding Land Registry Official Copy Entries.• Good understanding of conveyancing documentation• Instructing and reading expert’s reports• Good sound knowledge of the Party Wall etc Act 1996 • Experience with injunction applications • Experience in registering orders with the Land Registry Breach of Contract• Have experience in most breaches of contract.
