Brand Manager
"Skycarte love to blur the lines between indoor and outdoor furniture. To strive to develop products that utilize as many senses as possible; why does outdoor furniture need to look like ‘outdoor furniture?’ Why can’t indoor furniture handle a bit of weather? With this, the company set about designing a range of ‘Earthy’ furniture- as happy outside in the sun as it is inside under the roof." My role within Skycarte held a specific focus on all things creative within the company. I had a particular passion for the implementation of new products and the ways to market these items appealingly towards our target demographic. It was my job to make Skycarte a recognizable new brand with an interesting identity. To make the products exciting, with appetizing online content that always aimed to engage and entice our customers’ full attention.Achievements:∆ Introduce New Product to Market - Applying various forms of media I was able to analyze social behavior to identify and redesign the iconic Papasan Chair that would engage our target market. From initial design to sourcing materials, I successfully introduced the ‘Hangasan,’ the Hanging Papasan to Skycarte’s range, which is now responsible for nearly 23% of their total gross sales.∆ Relationship Building – Initiation of relationships with overseas manufacturers, which have now become regular suppliers for Skycarte in partnerships that are mutually beneficial for both parties.
