After the dissolution of Still Young Vintage, I was asked to come on board to help create a new start up online vintage store, the role involves the management of the brands eBay and marketplace platforms, using knowledge of trends to source on-trend vintage garments and assessing online sales to assist with brands growth and future stock purchases.Skills: Buying / Stock Picks / Trend Analysis / Styling / Online Marketing / Social Networking / Online Product Listings / Garment Remakes

The placement involved promoting Oxfam, specifically the festival shop, at major UK festivals such as Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival. Role –- Implementing a vibrant and informative social media strategy and plan that showcased the Festival shop during the lead up to the Festival season and when on site.- Assisting in running social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the Oxfam blog to showcase the festival shops style and stock, as well as spreading the festival shop campaign - generating interest, new followers and interactions and increasing footfall into the shop.- Interacting with media outlets such a local radio and influential bloggers.- Communicating professionally and working in a time-efficient manner to meet deadlines.- Working with the Oxfam GB marketing team to create creative content and visuals that fall in line with Oxfam’s brand strategy and values

Through working for TFG I gained an understanding about how to run, promote, and manage an online business and the use of virtual marketing to expand it. My virtual role initially revolved around article generation as the internship went on I became more involved in the publishing process and the technical aspects of online marketing, giving me an understanding on how to maximise websites content reach to a wider audience - using SEO, affiliate marketing and social media.

My role within SYV involved promoting the business via social media, styling and assisting with product shoots and the buying of new stock via hand pick events – the latter allowed me to witness the fast paced exchange between suppliers and buyers in vintage retail. As the company was relatively young I had the opportunity to be involved in strategy meetings to assist with business growth, where my input involving marketing, promotion and styling was taken on board and implemented.

During my internship I gained valuable experience developing a vintage womenswear clothing section within the Oxfam Online e-tail shop and creating appealing and commercial PR content appropriate for the Oxfam Online Batley online shop. During my time at Oxfam Online I was one of the principle project managers for the S/S14 Oxfam Batley and Marks and Spencer corporate fashion show, the role included model booking, press sourcing, promotion and event organising. Role -- Understanding OOS Batley's market by identifying and responding to both its key contemporary and its vintage customer profiles.- Selecting and managing a commercial vintage and contemporary product range focused on accessories, outerwear and bridal.- Working in a team to create trend boards and professionally presenting these to staff and marketing teams.
