Power Systems Development Engineer
Current- Responsibilities:
- Perform steady-state and dynamic power system analysis to support the system operator’s ability to meet its Principal Performance Obligations (PPO’s).
- Remain adept in the use of power system modelling tools including PowerFactory, DSAToolsTM and PSCAD. Provide tool support to the division and engage across Transpower to ensure best practise in their use is maintained.
- Contribute to the development and deployment of dynamic power system tools and ancillary services to support real time operations.
- Participate in strategic and critical optimisation studies for the operation of the National Grid in terms of asset capability, spinning reserve, reactive power, and transient security.
- Verify and calibrate dynamic models of power system assets. Ensure that dynamic control systems implemented by industry participants are accurate, stable, grid enhancing and in accordance to industry standards.
