Supplemental Instruction is a series of weekly review session for students who are taking historically difficult courses. These sessions are led by “S.I.” leaders who have successfully completed the course. My responsibility was to attend the course again, listen to the lectures, take notes, and lead the weekly study sessions that focus on better understanding the course content, as well as how to study effectively for the course. The courses I was an “SI” for was Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Finance, both introductory classes that every W.A. Franke College of Business student must take. Along with leading the sessions it is also my job to promote attendance, take attendance of the study sessions for research, and communicate with the professor on specific topics to be stressed or share reminders to students of coursework to be completed. I had fun reviewing and helping students who would attend my sessions, especially for microeconomics where the number of students would be in the 30s and 40s.
