I evaluated hundreds of products and solutions over the years focusing on their designs against information security. The target of evaluation that I usually work on includes:- Mobile payment apps (under PCI CPOC/SPOC/MPoC, PCI 3DS SDK schemes)- Payment terminals (under PCI PTS POI, Common.SECC schemes)- Dedicated secure processors (under PCI PTS scheme)- Personal security devices (under NVB LC594 scheme)When performing evaluations, below are the common tasks that I do on a daily base:- Hardware design review on PCB layouts and schematics- Firmware architecture review on root of trust, verification chain, RNG function, etc.- Source code review and reverse engineering on security implementations- Functional test and penetration test on secure countermeasures- Vulnerability assessment on key management and secure channel designs- Life-cycle audit on manufactory process, backend systems and procedure docs

As the technical lead of various projects, my responsibilities are mainly:- Process customer inputs, estimate evaluation workload and make testing plan- Assign tasks, monitor evaluation progress and provide technical supports- Review evaluation reports, communicate to scheme body and handle their inquiries- Provide training and consultancy to colleagues and customers

The tasks and responsibilities are similar to Sr. Security Evaluator, but on lower level.
