In the mid-1980s, a visit to a computer department in Prague’s state-owned metallurgy company sparked my lifelong passion for computing. Captivated by this early exposure, I knew that my future lay in technology.My educational path became clear: I attended a Secondary School of Electrical Engineering, gaining a foundation in hardware and low-level systems. I then moved on to the Czech Technical University in Prague in the 1990s, where I focused on programming, computer graphics, and networking. My studies culminated in a Master’s degree in Computer Graphics.With a solid foundation in place, I transitioned to the commercial sector, beginning as a network administrator and Visual Basic programmer. Soon, I shifted into web design and development, collaborating with talented teams and later founding my own company in 1998. My career then took me to London in 2002, where I found a niche in long-term roles, including leading development for digital agency Glass and music platforms Livemusic.fm and Live&Loud.Throughout my career, I’ve drawn on a wide skill set, from programming in PHP and Ruby to backend development and database design. Rather than specializing narrowly, my strength lies in blending technical and analytical abilities to address complex challenges holistically. I see myself as a versatile problem-solver who values creativity as much in technical solutions as in life.Recently, my interests have shifted toward forestry and ecology. Having completed a master’s in computer science, I’m now pursuing a master’s in forestry at the Czech University of Life Sciences, exploring my fascination with fungi and ecological systems. Looking forward, I aim to bridge my background in IT with my passion for biology, possibly in a research career or an academic path leading to a Ph.D.
