Business turned a corner when his wife, Lisa joined the company and developed the company's Proposal IT division. BGC began to hone a reputation for expert Desktop IT support with clients like Raytheon, SAIC, and KPMG, and Bearing Point.Yet midway his career he began to devote time to working with the homeless and underprivileged, remembering his own personal struggle with homelessness early in adulthood. His calling emerged when he recognized that not only do the underprivileged require a voice in advocacy, they require sincere and effective resources that make a definitive impact for life change! Integrating his experiences as a Designer and Consultant with social concerns was a simple challenge and he developed the motto, "Caring is Our Business!" This phrase became one of NLAC's hallmarks.Chaplain T (as commonly referred to by the community) designed social helps projects as easily as he designs logotypes and letterhead. Crisis and Transitional Outreach was a necessary creation; an initiative affording the underprivileged the tools and resources to promote successful living. Chaplain T took 3 years to immerse himself in the social system to fully comprehend the needs of :"at risk" populations. (Thank God for understanding wife, who took the reigns of the company to maintain cash flow.) In the 5th year crisis care ministry was birth and Southern Maryland was the first community to experience a whole new level of community outreach and faith-based crisis response.Today Tim Buffaloe is a certified Field Chaplain and the Chief Administrative Operative for the New Life Advocacy Council, an agency that specializes in crisis and transitional outreach. The Chaplain splits his time between vocation and avocation.

Chaplain Tim J. Buffaloe (Chaplain T) has blazed a trail in community outreach by spear heading the development of crisis and transitional care in a faith oriented setting. Much of NLAC-DARMO's service plan is predicated upon the creative drive of the Chaplain in his endeavor to provide a comprehensive faith-oriented response to serious social concerns. As a crisis/trauma responder, NLAC-DARMO has deployed transitional facilities and services over a twenty year period and Chaplain T has been responsible for directing that effort. In addition, in recognizing the need to adapt to changing social trends, Chaplain T and partners founded the DayStar Advanced Response Missional Operations (DARMO) unit, which is a force of skilled Field & Public Safety Chaplains. This uniformed force of Field Chaplains is commissioned to work alongside the DARMO Task Force (DTF). The Task Force is a collaboration of host of churches and 10 faith-oriented service organizations across the National Capitol Region. This grassroots network of faith responders are responsible for numerous response and relief efforts in the DMV. As Chief, Chaplain T is responsible for managing day-to-day operations as well as missional deployments that bring spiritual care, emergency relief, and resilience programming to bear in underserved communities in the Metropolitan area.With the advent of the COVID-19 Pandemic the task force adapted and expanded to addressing critical health concerns and associated disparities. Chaplain T led missional deployments during the George Floyd National Crisis that brought protests and violence to the streets of Washington DC. On January 6, 2021 Chaplain T also deployed to the Nation's Capitol to support law enforcement and FEMS personnel who responded to this critical incident. Chaplain T is not a stranger to crisis and trauma activity and his ministerial and missional experience is profound!
