About Dr. Cassandra Chapman, Ph.D.
Halton & Peel Regions Campus Headmaster, Partnerships Director, and Instructor at Brain Power Enrichment Programs. We offer after-school and weekend academic enrichment to high achieving and bright kids. After three decades of success in Vaughan, we have recently expanded to Hamilton (Jan 2022). I am looking to build partnerships with associations in education locally, nationally, and internationally. Connect with me! I also teach post-secondary courses at McMaster University, Brock University, York University, and the University of Toronto. I completed Ph.D. at McMaster University in the Cognitive Science of Language Program in 2018. From a research perspective, I am interested in both theoretical and experimental linguistics. I am particularly interested in applying linguistic theory to experimental paradigms. My PhD work examined the interaction between syntactic processing and working memory, investigating the real-time processing of complex syntactic structures and looking at the effect of definiteness on certain syntactic constructions. In my previous work, I examined the difference between two related syntactic constructions that differed only based on prosodic cues by conducting an acceptability judgement task.
Listed skills include Research, Academic Writing, Research Design, University Teaching, and 39 others.
