Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'm an entrepreneur at heart. After my first successful invention in 4th grade, I directed my life toward innovation and business. I graduated from BYU’s Marriott School of Business in 2013 in entrepreneurship and returned back to the Bay Area where I was personally mentored by Paul Esajian of A&E’s ‘Flip This House’ and became a successful Real Estate Investor. With a desire to build out my own ideas, I returned to Utah to attend a coding Bootcamp called DevMountain, in January of 2015. Throughout the program, I fell in love with what DevMountain was doing and upon completion created a position for myself as the head of Employer Relations. I built my role and eventually turned it into a department that I lead. After we sold the company to Capella University I decided to move on to software engineering full-time.Since that time I have found a perfect balance as a business experienced, business-minded, technical, Sr. Director of Engineering at Podium. I started at Podium when everyone reported directly to the CTO and there were no managers. I was hired as one of the first engineering managers at Podium and have been a part of creating and defining this role at Podium while we grew from a startup into a multi-billion-dollar tech company. I am now the most tenured Engineering Leader at Podium and I still report directly to the CTO. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to manage and launch 3 of our core Podium Products - Payments, Phones, and CRM. I now lead a group of managers that lead our Inbox, Channels, Communication Platform, Phones, Contact Profiles/CRM, and our Mobile Platform teams. It's been a wild ride learning how to adapt as a manager through hyper-growth, a pandemic, and moving to full-remote work, but it's been an experience and opportunity I couldn't have imagined, and I feel incredibly grateful. I currently reside in Lehi, UT with my beautiful wife and three sons.
