Sherry Chapman is a Book Author at 1 Stop Genealogy. She possess expertise in nonprofits, public speaking, editing, fundraising, genealogy and 35 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Something a parent should never have to do is bury their own child. This is something most parents would see as unimaginable. But in 2002, Sherry Chapman, founder/president of !MPACT had to do just that after losing her son at the age of 19 in a devastating car accident. Shortly after she joined together with other mothers, who had also lost their children in accidents, to form a group called !MPACT.
Recently after the group was formed I met Sherry. I, myself had been in a traumatic car accident where I had almost lost my life, I spent a year both inpatient and outpatient at Connecticut Children's Medical Center rehabilitating myself after this life altering experience. Through this process Sherry invited me to help her in making an !MPACT. I speak as a survivor of a car accident at the various presentations they hold throughout the state.
While working with Sherry I was able to see just how dedicated she was to !MPACT. She has the purpose of eliminating teenage driving fatalities and will stop at nothing to achieve this. She diligently plans presentations at different high schools and venues throughout the state of Connecticut, while always keeping her members/speakers best interest in mind. Without Sherry in my life, I would not have been able to make as successful of a recovery. This opportunity she gave me to speak at presentations was irreplaceable and helped with my healing process tremendously. Sherry is truly an amazing women, mother, and friend, who went through a tragic situation that she turned into something positive. I feel truly blessed to have her as a part of my life."
