When your first full time job has you running stock in and out of a liquor warehouse while navigating the sea of customers as they rush to get what they need for the festive season, you learn rather quickly how important it is to have the right stock at the right time. I didn’t know it then but this was my introduction the world of “value chain”.Over the preceding years I took on many team leading roles and then eventually moved into management where I gained more and more exposure to the value chain. My years in front line retail were the catalyst to an eventual move into the technology space as I sort to combine my keen interest in that field with over a decade of retail experience. My past and present clients transcend multiple verticals such as retail, consumer goods, transport logistics and heavy industry to name a few. I have a solid background in supply chain standards where my work focused on the identification, capturing and sharing of data to give clients visibility, certainty and control of their supply chain. I now work at the intersection of people, technology and business strategy as I help clients get the most out of their technology choices. Connecting technologies in a way that allows them to improve their customer experience while delighting their customer with efficient flow of goods and data.Traversing the technology landscape across the value chain can be daunting however I enjoy it and I’m only too happy to share what I know and have learnt over the years to whomever is willing to listen. Technology is forever changing and therefore I’m forever learning, it’s the way I like it and it’s why I do what I do.
