As a Senior Financial Analyst at Synthes, I was responsible for providing financial support to Synthes' largest manufacturing plant in Monument, Colorado. Quarterly, I independently traveled to Monument to lead our internal cycle count auditing efforts in order to ensure accurate inventory management and reporting. I supported the plant during monthly financial closes including journal entries and account reconciliations. I implemented a Price Volume Mix analysis, which analyzed various metrics directly driven by sales and cost of sales. This analysis aided management during the business planning process and fostered visibility from the product category to the SKU level.I received company-wide recognition and an award for implementing a monthly Gross Profit Analysis, which corrected an inventory control process, ultimately adding $2.6MM back into inventory and reduced work hours spent during our financial close process.

Through Johnson & Johnson’s Financial Leadership Development Program, I spent one job rotation with Corporate Internal Audit. In this department, I had the opportunity to travel to nine different J&J operating companies to understand their business environments and subsequent financial controls, and to hone in on specific financial cycles during each audit. I developed expertise in auditing Financial Reporting, Other Assets, Liabilities, Income and Expenses, Revenue, Inventory, Payments, and User Access and Segregation of Duties. I traveled to various J&J international companies in Switzerland, Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, and Spain; national companies in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana; and two contractors in Ireland and Italy. Through these experiences, I gained a global understanding of how J&J operates, strengthened my ability to learn quickly, assessed the effectiveness of business functionalities, delivered recommendations and results to upper level management; and expanded my professional network.

At Johnson & Johnson's MD&D Supply Chain, I supported all J&J Medical Device and Diagnostic (MD&D) companies’ Quality through financial consolidations and Quality Systems Project support. The former required the derivation, consolidation, and reconciliation of MD&D Quality spending and headcount. In order to pull this high level, detailed financial information together, I interdependently worked with 17 finance business partners, located at various J&J MD&D companies/sites across the United States. I then presented the data to upper level J&J Supply Chain Management to persuade high-level, strategic decision making. The latter entailed ongoing spending and planning analyses and subsequent reviews, capital/expense determination, J&J's Worldwide Procedures Compliance, and various ad hoc requests. Through these activities, I supported 15 Quality Systems projects, one of which totaled ~$181MM. Additionally, I helped develop and consolidate the Quality Preliminary Business Plan and Final Business Plan for 2014. Through this, my manager and I were recognized by the Vice President of Quality Operations for executing, “The best quality review the group has had.”

At Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, I managed six Rochester site budgets totaling to ~$15 Million and performed eight financial closes including journal entries and financial reporting, while supporting five analysts. Some of my accomplishments include providing financial planning and guidance to business partners during the 2013 Business Plan process; and volunteering to be the financial liaison on the Bridge to Employment steering team, an organization that provides assistance to college-bound, high school students.
