I am a graduate from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's in Education, specifically 7-12 Integrated Social Studies. I am currently working at Toledo School for the Arts as a long time substitute teacher working in the capacity of Intervention Specialist. Teaching students in this capacity has helped me further develop my scaffolding skills and has helped me slow down my teaching and differentiate it more than I had previously needed to.I have also coached gymnastics for the past 5 years. Being a coach has helped me developed advanced scaffolding skills as well as improve my patience with students, as I work with 6-10 year olds. I have learned that acquiring new skills is not an easy thing to do, and it requires hard work and determination. Being able to inspire students to put forth the effort to do well in school requires effort on the part of the teacher. I have many ideas that, I believe, will help the students to enjoy learning the content and be willing to put in the effort into class.
