I started my career as a Project Engineer in the State Development and Construction Corporation (SD&CC) at the Widening and Improvements to Aluthmawatha Road Project. I led the construction of drain system (both precast and in-situ construction) and ground improvement for the sub base construction. I monitored the progress of the project using Microsoft Project, and also improved my skills in administrative skills as a Civil Engineer.I have also worked as a project engineer at the Construction of viaduct for VVIP entrance to the Defense Headquarters project. I was involved in the construction of abutments, wingwalls and piers. I was also iengaged in the launching of precast, pre-tension beams and preparation of reinforcement and formwork works for the deck slab.I prepared Bills of Quantities pertaining to this project under Sri Lanka's contract management practices. In addition to that, I monitored the daily project activities and planned the forthcoming works.Currently, I am acting as the project engineer of the "Rectification and Replacement of Bearings of Hanwella Bridge" project. It is a very challenging project as the rectification is done 50ft underwater. Providing timely solutions is one of the key aspects of this project. I conducted micro piling and pressure grouting work under this project. I am also involved in key decision making of the project dealing with stakeholders such as clients, contractors and consultants. In addition to that, I am tracking the progress of the project to execute the decisions at the different stages of the project.

Worked as a Civil Engineer in Inamaluwa Water Supply Project The water supply project provides treated water to Sigiriya and Habarana areas, which are two of major agricultural territories in Sri Lanka. The project fetches water from Ibbankatuwa tank, then treated and distributed among communities through NWSDB. As a civil engineer, I lead pipe laying, construction of chambers (Air valve chamber, wash out chamber and gate valve chamber) in this project. Furthermore, tunnelling work was also carried out under my supervision wherever the excavation work is not possible. In addition to that, rock blasting works and pressure testing works were also carried out in this project. Moreover, disinfecting works and surveying works were also performed.Besides the site work, I fulfilled the office works such as maintaining site records, daily progress and labor assigning records.

The Metro Colombo Solid Waste Management Project is a result of the large supply of solid waste from colombo municipal council and other peripheral councils and the catastrophes occured in open dumping landfills. Aruwakkalu Sanitary Landfill is a 1200 ton/day capacity semi-aerobic sanitary landfill. In this project, I've gained experience in Solid waste management, Leachate treatment process, water proofing of concrete structures, Liner system in a landfill, Dynamic Compaction (DC) and piling. In addition to that, I've been trained in structural analysis and building design using codes of practice as well as with softwares SAP 2000 and ETabs.

The new Faculty of Technology (FoT) complex is part of a large education and technology zone in Pitipana. The faculty provides undergraduates with a host of higher education opportunities in the fields of Engineering Technology, Biosystems Technology, and Information Communication Technology (ICT).In this project, I lead in constructing the administrative building (A1). The work includes engineering surveying, excavation, reinforcement, formwork, concreting and rock blasting.In addition to that, laboratory testing was done for concreting and earthworks. Furthermore, document handling, working in a team, labor handling were trained under this project.
