- Provide advice, information and instruction on local OHS issues- Compiling weekly man hour reports to be submitted to Hitachi/DOL- Managing SHE inductions of all employees - Supervising of workforce on steel erection (150 Staff)- Assisting with the management of quality- Assist steel erectors to manage risks and hazards in their area- Report and investigate incidents, injuries and hazards and implement agreed control measures- Participating in accident investigations of other companies and support with VFL (visible felt leadership) programmes - Assisting with the implementation of the companies HSE plans to comply to ESKOM standards- Monitoring workplace activities to ensure that workers comply with company policies and government safety regulations.- Review and analyse injury and incident reports and data- Reporting to the Site Manager and assist with report writing on incidents - Assisting jnr. safety officers to ensure all staff work in a safe environment ‘approach and coach techniques’ - Ensuring NO safety, health and environmental incidents- Workplace inspections ensuring all workers work safe and use correct techniques and PPE - Checking of safety harnesses to comply to SABS standards - Assisting riggers in checking all rigging equipment to comply to safety standards - On site staff training towards SHE- Help promote OHS awareness
