While completing my degree in International Studies and Political Science at the University of Northern British Columbia, I had the opportunity to become involved with various projects. As a member of the executive team for the Political Science Student Association, we encouraged students to learn about and become engaged in the political process and held a number of events including informal debates and movie nights. I was also involved with organizing the inaugural UNBC Greenday. This event allowed local businesses, groups, government, and individuals to learn about local green initiatives.At UNBC, I had the opportunity to take a wide range of courses including:• Environments and people • Contemporary Political Issues• Canadian Government and Politics • Global Resources• Global Science and Technology • Local Services and Public Policy• Social and Health Policy Administration • Canadian Politics and PolicyI feel that these courses have provided me with an excellent knowledge base for an assortment of positions including municipal, provincial, and federal government; non-profits; and environmental organizations.After graduation, I ran a remote provincial park in Northern BC before moving to Vancouver Island. Here, I have worked for a variety of non-profits and environmental organizations as demonstrated below.My education and experience have provided me with excellent verbal and written communication skills, a desire to help others, and a love of learning.
