I grew up in western PA. I now reside in Hickory NC. I am an Instructional Technology Coach for Western Piedmont Community College. I support instructors with creating engaging courses using technology and best practices in UDL and backward design concepts. I deliver professional development/training for adults. I also assist the Moodle Administrator. In addition to this, I am a licensed in Elementary Ed (K-6), Special Ed (K-12), and Emotional behavior (K-12). I have been a Registered Behavior Technical for the Autism Society of NC. I have my Masters of Science in Instructional design and Learner experience design (K12 and adult concentrations) and educational technology. I have taught resource math, reading, and writing pull-out classes. Additionally I have also taught self-contained EC behavior classes, ELA and Social Studies. I taught over 130 students annually from a Title 1 school where I consistently "exceeds growth" with my students. I work with our after-school tutoring (Inspired Learning). I am a member of the School improvement team, PBIS chair, teacher mentor and I have been nominated for Teacher of the Year 3 times. Previously, I worked as an office manager/trainer, lead sales, and CSR for an Allstate agent in Kingston PA. I was a personal lines CSR and also a traveling trainer for BB&T Insurance in the Southeast region. I began my professional career as a document designer at Bosch Braking Systems where I created training documents to bring the 2000-employee factory into compliance with QS-9000 standards. I later moved to Kaydon Corporation to provide office support before relocating to Greenville SC.I am married to Tim who is an IT architect and I have two girls, Emily and Abby. Both attend/attended Challenger Early College and my oldest is now a Biology/Neuroscience major at NC State. I am active in my church where I serve as a Sunday School teacher.
