My breadth and depth of publishing and freelance editing, writing, and proofreading experience have equipped me with various value-added skills. Moreover, before comparison programs were developed, I mastered manual markup for redlining (cumulative), proofreading, and best practices for in-house and commercial printers. When system maintenance or poor copies interfere with deadlines, or client documents are incompatible, these skills have saved money and projects. During my tenure at Skadden, I worked all shifts, with the last as the sole support staff for the Chicago Weekend Operations Technology Center and facility. This required me to work independently and manage various projects from different sites and time zones while prioritizing tasks effectively. In addition to my proofreading and formatting skills, I have experience in knowledge management, internal communications, vendor management, and supervisory roles with freelance writers.As a production editor, I have also supported several reporters, guides, books, and other projects, managing them from start to finish and ensuring that every project was completed on time and to the highest standard.
