Responsible for planning, directing, and controlling material resources and business activities to support quality services in Perioperative Services, Sterile Processing, and Endoscopy. Lead the development and maintenance of the operating and capital budgets, pursue and implement inventory and supply cost savings initiatives, and conduct financial projects. Partner with finance department to ensure compliance with billing practices and identify opportunities to improve revenue capture. Additionally, responsible for leading the coordination of projects and supporting Information Technology Services to include managing the following project related tasks: process redesign, vendor evaluation, implementation, coordination and support of new surgery systems applications and/or enhancements. Ensure communication of project team members and coordinate end-user training.

Support the medical enterprise with financial inquiries such as review of monthly operating reports, variance to fixed and flex budget, productivity data and analysis, action plans and capital acquisition. Led a multidisciplinary team through a process improvement activity surrounding capital acquisition resulting in clear process and improved satisfaction and communication. Responsible for capital fund actual expense and projections tracking and reporting monthly or as needed to executive administration. Responsible for preparing the operating budget opening target within the budget system, development tools and finalization for approximately 500 accounting units, inpatient, outpatient and administrative. Includes loading and analyzing historical data, new departments and entities within Keck Medicine and reconciling for accuracy. Working with operational leaders on individual accounting unit budgets by relaying high level assumptions, providing reports, understanding department requests and balancing. Redeveloping a budget variance analysis program and trained leaders to foster accountability among management. Support the leaders of the organization by providing data and analysis of varying data sets related to volume and financial performance impacting operations including ROI and profitability. Model volume, revenue and expense scenarios for analysis and opportunities for improvement. Lead operations leaders and front line teams through financial improvement opportunity working groups. Part of team to implement new health system wide financial system including decision support, RVU development, management reporting and operating budget. Led training sessions for large groups as well as taught individuals how to navigate the new system.

Acted as interim program manager for newly launched adolescent and young adult oncology program at the USC Norris Cancer Hospital. Responsible for program growth and development, adherence to program budget with funding from several sources including grant funds, grant update reports, community and internal awareness events. Had oversight for several staff including program assistant, social worker and two nurse navigators. Partnered with hospital and cancer center administration to promote program growth and development. Led internal awareness campaign by organizing meetings and lunch and learn sessions with physicians and mid-level licensed providers.
