Social Service Worker
Current-Responsible for organizing/leading after school program at residential group home for up to 20 children in grades K-12, including early literacy education, tutoring, advanced life skills training with child-specific independently written curriculum, and carrying out service plans focused on academic, social, and emotional development (2013-current)-Independently developed and implemented advanced curriculum for Pre-K students utilizing a multi-modal and hands-on approach to learning resulting in advanced academic performance when entering the public school system within a demographic known for poor academic success (2012-13)-Maintain detailed records on developmental, emotional, and academic progress to share with necessary parties -Build and maintain appropriate attachments with youth and staff to foster a safe environment conducive to transitioning children into future homes with minimal impact to their overall mental, physical, academic, and emotional development-Act as liaison to case workers, caregivers, guardian ad litems, school officials, therapists, program administration, families, and other officials involved in the children's foster care cases-Completed trainings: Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Caregiver Stress Management, Prevention of Infectious Diseases, HIPAA, Verbal Deescalation, Human Trafficking, Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting (MAPP) Certified
