• Investigated the practicability and accuracy of log-domain computation in a neural network, and developed a performance evaluation tool for the professor to compare different parameters.
• Examined the precision of fixed-point number representation using Matlab to find out the shortest bit length with adequate precision.
• Implementing a fixed-point log-domain computation module on FPGA using Verilog to achieve faster computation speed and smaller silicon area than a regular hardware multiplier does.

• Designed a lightning protection circuit that is now part of the company’s product. Laid out the PCB, selected components, organized BOM, supervised production, and tested the final products.
• Developed the PCB for a controlling system involved with STM32 MCU, power regulators, differential signals, and MOSFET drivers to support ultrasonic distance measurement.
• Devised a fully automated 3D model reconstruction solution based on aerial images from drones.

• Constructed simulation schematics containing optical objects made of silicon and GaAs illuminated by the light source using Lumerical FDTD, and simulated schematics under different test conditions.
• Calculated reflectance, transmittance, and absorptance from raw output data by writing Lumerical programming script, and plotted them against wavelength.
• Computed the S_abs (integrated solar flux absorption) by applying basic quantum physics.

• Tested camera’s WiFi connectivity, rotation, two-way audio functions before entering the market.
• Devised a better testing procedure, resulting in improved efficiency over 200% by testing remote functions in parallel with multiple Android emulators.
• Solved a WiFi connection problem by removing a MOSFET switch in the WiFi module.
