The Health Planning, Research and Statistics (HPRS) department is key Department of the HHSS involved with Health Policy and Rolling Plans formulation, implementation and review; Health Systems Development and Operations Research; Project Monitoring and Evaluation; Health Management Information Systems; Health Manpower development strategies; Coordination and liaison functions (internal and external) of the Secretariat, including development aid (Bilateral, Multilateral NGOs and Cooperation) as well as Institutionalization of health technology thrusts in support of our FCT health services. Amongst the key units of the HPRS department is the eHealth unit which in line with the 2016-2020 FCT eHealth Policy and Strategy document has been strengthened to ;•To manage and coordinate eHealth implementation across the Territory.•Align, plan and organize all eHealth activities in line with the FCT Policy and PolicyImplementation Strategy and report to the Steering Committee.•Serve as the Secretariat of the Steering Committee and carry out its decisions.•Perform other functions as may be necessary and expedient to give effect to thefunctions of the Steering Committee in line with the FCT eHealth Policy and Strategy document. Its core statutory functions are health policy formulation and planning, provision of medical and other health related services to the FCT population, regulatory and oversight functions for all private health care providers/facilities in the FCT, provision of primary health care services, disease control, health education and promotion as well as health manpower development.The Secretariat through its various departments formulates health policies, monitors and supervises all health related activities in the FCT, as well as carryout oversight functions of both the HMB and FCT PHCB as well as its other agencies.
