An FCA qualified with PwC I spent 15 years in large-cap Investment Banking first with Lazard and then JPMorgan and HSBC as Managing Director of Investment Banking. I then spent 4 years at two Private Equity backed technology start-ups, the first (RTMS) as Finance Director to raise finance and build the operational, commercial and governance infrastructure, the second (eCourier) initially as FD and then Chief Executive Officer which included fund raising, building a senior leadership team and designing and implementing a new business model and strategy that set a platform for an 80% increase in revenue in the first year following my appointment.Over the past 15 years I have held various Board positions at 3 mid-cap Investment Banks revolving around the CFO role with exposure to the financial, risk and regulated environments. I have also been Chair, or a member, of Audit, Risk, Remuneration and Operating Committees. I have contributed to business strategy, fund raisings, post-merger integration and cost reduction programmes, s166 review, business closure, rights issue and placing, MIS enhancement, remuneration structures, the Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment, the creation of an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion framework and worked across multiple geographies in particular the US and Europe.◼️ I am a dynamic and seasoned C-suite Executive and Non-Executive Director with a broad frame of reference in strategic financial management, regulatory and risk oversight and corporate governance.◼️ I have a proven track record in initiating, negotiating and integrating M&A in public, private and PE backed businesses. ◼️ I have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, combined with a deep commitment to ethical practices and stakeholder engagement and willingness to challenge the status quo at all levels.◼️ I am an instinctive networker with active participation as a member of Aldeburgh Golf Club and the MCC, a Governor and member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee of Tonbridge School and as Chair of the Perry Watlington Trust, an East Anglian based charity.I am a committed member of our family of five, a keen vegetable gardener and erstwhile breeder of Oxford Sandy and Black pigs. Whatever I get involved with I give it 100% and make time to fit everything in.I would be interested in being contacted by those who share my interests, such as full or part-time CFOs, SME NEDs, School Boards and Charities (particularly Mental Health).
