I was promoted from Engineer to QA Manager of the 6500 Platform, staffing and leading a team of over 90 engineers. I developed strategies for platform technology planning and roadmap. In addition, I defined and managed the software release process. I was subsequently promoted to oversee the $1B product (7600 Platform) and collaborated with Development, System Test, and Release Operations teams on testing, release and related product activities. My prior accomplishments:❖Achieved goals on a $5B annual product, the highest revenue generation platform in history and the most important product at Cisco. Maintained the lowest customer-found defect rate in the entire company.❖Defined system testing methodology, reduced redundant test coverage as well as improved efficiency to ensure zero gaps in product test coverage.❖Restructured the test organization into feature-specific test teams, creating feature experts who improved test coverage and schedules. Additionally allowed virtual movement of engineers to different teams (practice that is now common among large platform teams company-wide).❖Created the architecture test plan that defined and prioritized cases which were architecturally significant to the product. Identified hardware bugs earlier in the schedule and reduced time-to-market. This pinpointed software architecture scaling and performance issues earlier in the cycle.❖Worked jointly with high-profile, global enterprise and financial customers, including MCI, AT&T, Microsoft, Merrill Lynch, and Credit Suisse First Boston, to provide robust, scalable technology solutions.
