My principal responsibility is to supervisor investigations of claims made to the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) regarding the BP oil spill and related matters. Reviewed documentation submitted in support of claims for potential fraud; develop an investigative action plan, forward investigative leads to private investigators along the Gulf Coast. Review the results of the investigation; make a decision of potential fraud or no fraud and write a Report of Investigation (ROI) which is forwarded to our client.Part of the financial review team asked by the USDA Forest Service to provide technical expertise for the third phase of the Liberian Forestry Concession review. The review was to determine the legality of all existing concessions for forest management, issued by the previous Government of Liberia. The review was successful in making recommendations which were key steps towards fulfilling the conditions laid out by the United Nations to lift sanctions on Liberian forest products. We designed the methodology for the concession review process. As a result of our review, millions of dollars in tax revenue due the Liberian Government was identified. The diverted revenue was used to further arm the conflict in the region. In addition, some of the diverted revenue was used for personal enrichment by the Former Liberian President.Based on our review, numerous recommendations were made to the National Transitional Government of Liberia (NTGL). One of the key recommendations’ made was the cancellation of all existing forestry concession agreements. Contributor to the design, development and implementation of fraud management systems.
