The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for Northwest London was established in October 2008. The CLAHRC is a £10 million award from the NIHR with a further £10 million in matched funding contributed from partner organisations. The NIHR CLAHRC for Northwest London is designed to support the NHS deliver the latest evidence based research into practice more effectively.

Worked with a number of high-profile Teaching Hospital Boards in the Foundation Trust pipeline. In particular, this work included:- Developing Integrated Governance framework with University Teaching Hospital Boards. Included Board reviews of organisational structures and information for integrated governance systems, high-level dashboards of information. - Working with external bodies including the Healthcare Commission, Foundation Trust Regulator, Audit Commission, Appointments Commission and the Department of Health.- Producing a Handbook on Integrated Governance launched in September 2005.- Reviewing 10 High Impact Changes following treasury review. Co-author of 10 HIC guide for Clinicians (published through gateway). Worked with whole system across SHAs and DH to develop strategies for adoption and implementation. - Supporting the Chief Scientific Officer in developing a programme for healthcare scientist’s new ways of working and applying redesign tools to enhance patient flow in different clinical settings with appropriate standards.

Responsible for an innovative portfolio comprising Clinical Governance, IT, Health Informatics and Clinical Service Development achieving 3 year concurrent 3 star status and good CHI review report in 2003; Lead the development of the vision and clinical strategy which underpinned the model of care for new PFI £530M new build.
