As a member of the health and performance team, I collaborate with other team members to ensure our players' optimal health, welfare, and performance; this includes injury prevention, rehabilitation, return to play activities, recuperation, and performance enhancement consultation and support.Designing a strength training program and monitoring training processes necessitates a thorough understanding of the game's physiological demands. It is critical to keep in mind while establishing a strength training program and monitoring training processes that this requires incomprehensible knowledge and understanding of the physiological demands of the sport itself. To improve performance, one must understand the scientific approach to sports technology. Furthermore, it is critical to carefully select and implement appropriate monitoring methods and software, as well as manage fatigue and effective recovery procedures, to reduce the dangers associated with potentially improper training program designs. Strength & Conditioning (S&C) & Performance coaches should be aware of a variety of aspects in order to improve physical conditioning since they will need to continuously interpret, make informed decisions, and adapt appropriate techniques. As a performance coach and sports scientist, I also play a critical part in the process of injury rehabilitation. When tissue is injured, it is our responsibility to influence the healing process while also continuing progressive overload in order to build resiliency. Known more often as the act of enduring the demands of daily living, training, and sports without re-injury or setbacks. To accomplish this, we must use evidence-based procedures guided by principles that utilize the proper load, intensity, and volume to challenge the injured tissue without aggravating their symptoms.

Portland Timbers Fc 1St Team Performance CoachPortland Timbers Feb 2015 - PresentPortland, Oregon AreaAs an integral part of our Health & Performance team, my primary responsibility is to optimize our daily training routine through the use of fundamental concepts in order to boost our squad's performance and prevent injuries. I work together with the coaching staff to create appropriate training sessions that focus on all facets of the game (physical, mental, technical, and tactical) through the use of an integrated and holistic technique system. By applying proper sports-specific and non-specific strength, energy system, nutrition, recovery, mobility, and corrective techniques, I hope to develop robust and resilient athletes capable of coping with the stresses/demands of our team's playing style. We use technology (GPS/Heart Rate monitors, Omegawave, velocity-based training, muscle EMG, Force Plates, and other Fitness & Movement testing technologies and techniques) paired with analytics to monitor our athletes and refine our periodized training techniques (Athlete Management Systems, Microsoft Excel, Rstudio, & Catapult). -
