As the research design engineer I am tasked with both planning and running experiments to further the goals of this startup. I am the lead on a chemical synthesis project for rare-earth hydrides and nitrides as well as running all of the material characterization equipment including, X-ray diffractometer, SEM/FIB, combustion analyzer, and Raman.

I conducted research on electron carrier dynamics in topological insulator, Bi2Se3 using an ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy setup. Apart from conducting the experiments I build a model to determine the carrier lifetimes as well as the phonon frequency from shock induced by the laser.
