Charles Curry is founder & Chairman of Chronos Technology Ltd. Charles graduated with an Honours Degree in Electronics from Liverpool University in 1973, and started his career in semiconductor research at GEC Hirst Research Centre, progressing to Racal Instruments where he was responsible for sales of test equipment including specialist frequency and time products. In 1983 Charles supplied some of the first civil GPS receivers to the Oil exploration industry whilst MD of GSE Rentals. He founded Chronos, a leading system integrator for synchronisation and timing products in the UK Telecom industry, in 1986. Charles founded the International Timing and Sync Forum (ITSF) in 2001 and is past chairman of the ITSF Steering Group. He is also a past member of the Workshop in Sync in Telecommunications Systems (WSTS) Steering Group which meets annually in the USA. Charles is a past member of the Industry Advisory Boards to the University of Bath, Electronic and Electrical Engineering Dept and the University of Liverpool Electrical and Electronics Dept. In 2012 Charles was awarded Honorary Professorships at The University of Bath, Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering and The University of Liverpool, Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronics. Charles is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.Charles was awarded the ITSF TimeLord award in Brighton Nov 2021.Specialities: Expert in synchronisation for telecommunications networks, time and timing measurement to nanosecond accuracy 24x7.
