This includes managing the shift crew and manufacturing activities as well as working individually and on teams to identify areas of opportunity to cause beneficial changeManaged manufacturing activities by leading and motivating shift employees in all areas including safety, efficiency, loss management, quality, and continuous improvement (TPM) protecting employee's health and safety, ensuring compliance of all regulatory and plant safety rules. Accountable for the productivity, resources for issue resolution, providing alternative duties in the event of breakdown or material shortage, monitoring general performance and behavior of employees, and adjusting crewing as necessary. Provide direct supervision to 90 hourly teammates. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Able to identify symptoms to problems and describe them clearly. Use systematic approach to find the root causes of problems. Open to all possibilities, considering all alternatives, and weigh short/long term costs versus the benefits from derived solutions. Excellent oral, written communication and effective interpersonal skills; and be able to communicate business results, changes and the relationship between individuals, their job, and the company.
