Transformed a procedural insurance program into an object-oriented system by inventing reusable objects representing insurance concepts. The resulting programs in Visual Basic. C++ and Java were used by the majority of Philibert's clients.Developed a multi-purpose rules engine that could be used for both formatting an input screen and validating input, avoiding the need for keeping independent formatting and checking programs in sync. Philibert Software used this engine in all of its subsequent Windows-based projects.Transformed a set of independent report-printing programs into a largely generic reporting program driven by text and scripting files, simplifying a programming assignment into a clerical task.
