Over the past 30 years, I have gained invaluable experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations, and event and sponsorship management for various high-profile organisations in South Africa. These include the Natal Performing Arts Council (now Playhouse Company), KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union, St Mary's Hospital, Mariannhill, uShaka Marine World, AIDS Foundation of South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal Society for the Blind, Learn to Earn, and the South African Jockey Academy.I also gained international marketing experience after being headhunted for a short-term contract as Sponsorship and Event Manager for Promoseven Sports Marketing, a large and reputable marketing and advertising agency in Dubai. During my time there, I worked as Tournament Director for the World 8-Ball Pool Championships, Television Liaison for the Dubai Rugby Sevens, and Event Manager for the UAE World Corporate Golf Challenge.I currently serve as Fundraising Manager at the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) in Cape Town, where I have been employed since 1 April 2014. During my time at PSFA, I have played a key role in setting up a new website and CRM system (Salesforce), recruiting a donor administrator, and increasing the donor income for this regional charity from R6.5 million to R24.5 million per annum. I have also driven social media campaigns, boosted corporate donor support by 70%, raised PSFA’s profile on national television and radio for the past eight years, and secured sponsorship for PSFA’s annual fundraising event, Blisters for Bread, which attracts over 13,000 walkers each year.Two major fundraising highlights during my time at PSFA include my COVID-19 appeal in 2020, which raised over R23 million in just three months, and the LottoStar Kfm Feeding our Future Radiothon, held on 1 June 2022, which raised R20 million in just 12 hours. Over my ten-year tenure at PSFA, I have successfully raised just over R150 million.
