I joined the Farmers State Bank family after graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2000. For more than two decades, I have worked hard and committed myself to be the best employee possible. That commitment to my bank paid off, as I am now the Chief Executive Officer. It’s a role that allows me to find ways to make Farmers State Bank a great place for our employees, our customers, and everyone who lives in the communities we serve. Working at a bank isn’t just about counting cash, reviewing loan applications, and keeping up on interest rates. Creating a company culture that fosters our team’s growth motivates me each day and has done so for more than 18 years. Of course, like many of us, I am committed to my family. I’ve been married for 20 years. My wife and I have a beautiful family that means the world to me. We enjoy spending time together not only at home but also at church. Our family also enjoys traveling from time to time. My commitment extends beyond being married with children. When the tie and suit coat comes off, you’ll find me in a pair of running shoes (I’ve run a handful of half-marathons) or snow skis. I also love picking up a good book. My favorite genres include personal development, history, biographies, crime fiction, spiritual, and fiction. A few other things that make me tick include bonefishing, ax throwing, and SCUBA diving. These are a few other areas that I have committed to being the very best I can be.
