Earlier in 2023, I led and transitioned a software development product delivery team to a fully Agile methodology. My direct superior, Matt Carlin, stated: "Charles was instrumental in assisting our team transition to Agile modern delivery. As our Scrum Coach, he drove the team to establish our code of conduct, our definition of ready and definition of done, as well as helping the team establish our cadence and ceremonies for the first time." (This is a recommendation from my LinkedIn profile.)My success came through leading by example and by working with individual team members so that the whole group could reach its goals. Here are three areas where I focus my professional attention:1. Be a Servant Leader - A PM should be skilled at being a Servant Leader. He/she should have a clear understanding of the team's capabilities and needs - and what defines success for all, as well as how to reach the goal as a team.2. Communication - a PM needs to be able to listen to and understand the client's needs in order to generate a customer-centric solution. Afterward, he/she will be able to express it to the process stakeholders and business owners who will engage in teamwork. The best solution is the one that is adopted and embraced by its end users. 3. Organization - A PM must be methodical in understanding the workflow, the elements along the critical path, and in being accountable for the work that is being done. This includes using tools such as recording User Stories in Jira, assigning work accordingly per Sprint, and setting up the proper resources in order to use the right people for the complex tasks ahead. The more organized, the better for all of the teams involved.I am adept at leading diverse, cross-functional teams (remote or onsite) in on-time and on-budget delivery of complex, customer-centric, corporate initiatives. I effectively partner with executive leaders to roll out strategic organizational transformations. My expertise includes: change management, regulatory compliance (SEC, SOX, FHFA, OCC), relationship management, and data analytics.
