*Led the implementation of interim master scheduling tools for the Cellulose Fibers Business, rolling out process changes in preparation for SAP implementation. * Assigned by the mill manager to drive a multiple year re-life effort in the mill. Managed six engineers and multiple engineering and construction firms on a contract basis to complete approximately $20 million of capital and expense projects in the three year time frame. * Managed the replacement of the pulp machine drives and a complete rebuild of the wet end vacuum system, resulting in machine efficiency improvements of 4%. Provided creative solutions to allow integrating the new equipment into the existing mill. * Implemented an innovative sulfur dioxide monitoring and alert system to assure compliance with OSHA regulations while avoiding $500,000 of capital spending for treatment systems.

*Department included 100 AWPPW hourly and 7 salaried employees. Responsible for 400 ton per day pulp manufacturing facility, including digesters, brown stock washers, bleach plant, pulp machine, and shipping department. * Worked with a mill wide team of managers and employees to improve safety performance, resulting in a decrease in the recordable incident rate from 8 to 2 over the eight year period. * Created a competitive advantage in the marketplace by making a rapid conversion to new bale dimensions for a key customer, resulting in sales of 24,000 tons per year. * Implemented work system redesign concepts in all departments, resulting in increased flexibility and responsibility in operating jobs. * Implemented process reliability concepts, replicating best practices from the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Business, increasing reliability by 3%.

* Designed process for reapplication of a used evaporator set, increasing evaporation capacity by 20% at a low capital cost. * Developed oxygen delignification process that does not use a washing stage, saving $5MM in capital costs. * Developed an innovative plan to address effluent compliance issues using process changes rather than end of pipe treatment, saving $4MM in capital costs.
