Working as a Cyber Security Manager in BT Business across the range of the BT Security Portfolio. I work with a variety of different security tools, whether that be improvements to ones we already sell, or evaluating new tools, to help improve the value we deliver to our customers. I recently have worked extensively with Palo Alto XSOAR, both from an infrastructure side: deploying via AWS and terraform, and from a system side: writing integrations, building playbooks.

Managing a team of software developers in the Dynamic IT team at BT. Initially a small team before expanding to a team of 15 across multiple projects. We built internal systems within BT that are used by the whole company. In this role I managed my teams workstack, consulted and decided on architectural directions, designed software solutions, and line managed the developers in my team.We worked in an Agile way, favouring Kanban boards, to deliver software systems for use to BT. This included the transformation of system access validation in BT, completely replacing the existing system. We also delivered systems to help rollout tools for other BT employees to use, sharepoint sites such as PCI compliance and office space booking in the post-COVID world, and replacing UIs of several legacy systems to improve the user experience.I also valued working on the professional development of the teams I was managing, bringing them together for cross-team activities. Plus we set time aside each week for learning, and trying to make everyday aspects such as stand-ups and retrospectives, supportive and fun.

Worked in the Dynamic IT team at BT working on internal systems that the whole of BT use. Building systems using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JavaScript, Gradle, and Docker. The main project we delivered at the time was a system to manage the transition of EE people into BT, helping them get their laptops switched for BT laptops, ensure they have needed systems access and provide all relevant information needed. We built this in a microservices docker architecture in Java, with a Javascript frontend. By the end of the project I took over as lead developer, helping guide the future design of the system as it evolved.

Focusing on designing and developing new builds and system improvements, correcting in-life issues, and developing Proof of Concepts for potential customers, as well as working on important deliverables for major contracts. Also working on understanding and adapting legacy applications to link into strategic workflows and systems.
